Training & Application Process
Idaho law requires all persons seeking licensure to provide documented proof of meeting the training requirements. The training requirements necessary to obtain a license to practice cosmetology, nail technology, esthetics, or electrology in the State of Idaho are outlined below. All categories of licensure require the applicant to:
Be no less than sixteen and one-half (16 1/2) years of age
Have completed at least two (2) years of high school education or its equivalent.
Successfully pass the NIC Theory and Practical examinations.

You may download the applications to register as an Apprentice, or request the application from the Bureau office.
Permits to temporarily demonstrate or teach cosmetology outside of licensed facilities are also available.
